Don't Throw Away Expired Coupons!!

If you use coupons, chances are you have a few expired ones laying around. If you're like me, then you tend to have billions of them at the end of every month. I always feel a tad sad that I didn't get to use them- most of the time they were forgotten about or didn't line up with any sales.

Here's a great reason to keep those expired coupons- overseas military families! When I found out that the Overseas Coupon Program existed, I instantly jumped at the chance to help. For many struggling families, these coupons are little pieces of blessing we can send their way. So the next time you shuffle through your coupons, ship off the ones that are expired and support those fighting and upholding what America stands for.

Friday Fun: Get to Know Your Community

How many of you can list off the names and vocations of at least 3 of your neighbors? What do you mean you don't know who they are?! Don't you see them everyday?

Unfortunately living in the city does this to many well meaning people- walls are built around strangers and impersonalization becomes a way of life. Thankfully, we can make a choice to combat that!

This Friday, I encourage you to get to know your neighbors. You can do this by either knocking on their door and saying hello, or you can start volunteering in your community!

Volunteering is a great way to meet your neighbors while simultaneously doing a greater good. It not only helps you give back to others but it also fosters greater community development. Before you know it, your network of friends will expand beyond the workplace or classroom and into the streets you live on. What a great way to make a positive impact in your life and those around you!

Don't know where to start? Food pantries, hospitals and schools are always looking for volunteers in a variety of areas. Another good place to look is volunteermatch.com where you can search for volunteer opportunities by location and interest. I guarantee once you start giving back your life will change for the better! And, best of all? Its completely free!
